class types
Ashtanga Yoga
This class is designed to give students the full benefits of the traditional Primary Series of Ashtanga Yoga as established by T. Krishnamacharya while being shorter and more accessible. Each class will include a series of different asanas that will be practiced with a strong focus on right breathing and alignment, allowing both mind and body to become clear and smooth. This class is not about performance or achievement but about using the body as a tool for mindfulness. It is also meant as a gentle introduction to the Ashtanga system – after attending five classes in a row, students will have practiced the whole Primary Series.
Hatha Yoga
In Hatha Yoga, the poses are traditionally held longer than in other more movement-oriented styles like Vinyasa or Ashtanga Yoga, and there’s less focus on the transition between poses. It enables the practitioner to focus more on what is happening on the inside – to observe the fluctuations in the body and in the mind while being in a pose. At the same time, the class builds strength and stability. It combines asana with the breathing practices (pranayama) and sometimes yoga nidra (yogic sleep) – leaving the student calm, relaxed, focused and aware.
Personalized Classes
Britta also offers tailored classes to individuals or groups – bringing together her combined knowledge from Ashtanga and Hatha Yoga, meditation, breathing practices (pranayama) and yoga philosophy. Just fill out the contact form, so that we can have a short consultation call, and we’ll take it from there. Classes can be held both in-person or online.
